While getting our tickets wasn't a big issue, getting inside the Taj compound was. All visitors must walk through a metal detector and all bags searched. Food (except for supplied drinking water), tripods, toys, or any sort of weapons are prohibited. [More]

As we entered the garden entrance, a long stretch of garden plants with colorful flowers made the sunny evening livelier. I was in search of the sight of Taj Mahal and not long after the entrance, we could see the first glance of the white marble wonder on the right in between rows of green plants. [More]

Upon entering the main gate made of red sandstone, at the center of what seemed to be a garden (charbagh) was a building of white marble. It's the main tomb and other buildings were of red sandstone including the river pavilion (facing Yamuna) and two sides of ornamental gateways. [More]

Located by the River Yamuna, built by King Akbar around 1570 A.D. and about 1 km from the Tajmahal East gate, Agra Fort can be easily reached from the town center. [More]
